Frequently asked questions
Open Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. FluentBits will verify with Apple and reactivate your plan on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
Yes. If you're signed into the same iCloud account on both devices, your word list, practice history, and review logs sync automatically through your private iCloud container. FluentBits cannot read your synced data. It lives entirely in your Apple account.
FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) is a modern scheduling algorithm that outperforms Anki's SM-2 in independent research. FluentBits uses FSRS to decide when to review each word so you see it at the exact moment you're most likely to forget. That means fewer reviews for the same amount of retention.
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your server-side record (Apple user ID, email, subscription history) from our database. On-device data is cleared at the same time. iCloud-synced data can be removed by deleting the app and signing out of iCloud, or by removing FluentBits data from iCloud Settings.
Most of the app works offline. The bundled CC-CEDICT dictionary (~4 MB), radical and stroke data, and your existing word list are all available without a network connection. Online is needed for new word lookups, text-to-speech synthesis, and image text extraction.
Free accounts have a daily lookup quota to keep the backend sustainable. Premium accounts have a much higher limit. You can check your remaining quota on the Words tab, and upgrade at any time from Settings → Subscription.
